In Concert

a year-end showcase featuring an evening of mixed repertoire and Act I of Don Quixote

Experience the passion and intensity of young love at this year's In Concert performance of Act I of Don Quixote, complete with toreadors, fans, capes and gypsies. The ballet’s story centres around Kitri and Basilio, a young couple in love whose relationship is threatened. The lead roles are danced by Vivika Ballard and Johnstuart Winchell, respectively. Both are Level 7 Professional Division students, set to graduate in June. Fresh-faced and exuberant in their dancing, they perfectly capture the bravura and innocence of the two young lovebirds.

In Concert will also feature excerpts from Haydn Grand Défilé, choreographed by Jorden Morris, Associate Director of the RWB School Professional Division and former RWB Company Principal Dancer, the gorgeous Sleeping Beauty pas de deux and Sarabande, a neo-classical “abstract” work by Mark Godden (The Magic Flute, Dracula).
