A year-end showcase featuring the spellbinding Snow Queen and a stunning excerpt from Laurencia.

Experience the magic of Hans Christian Andersen’s famous wintry fairy tale, The Snow Queen, at this year's In Concert. The ballet's story centres around Gerda’s quest to find her friend Kay who has been put under the Snow Queen’s evil spell. Her fantastic journey takes her to the Snow Queen’s Palace inhabited by her magical court of icy shards and forest sprites. Only Gerda’s love for Kay can release him from the spell and break the Snow Queen’s curse of eternal winter.

The role of the evil Snow Queen will be danced by Level 6 Professional Division student Taylor Drury while the roles of Gerda and Kay will be danced by Level 4 Professional Division students Jaimi Deleau and Ryan Vetter, respectively. Fresh-faced and exuberant in their dancing, these students will perfectly capture the magic and adventure of The Snow Queen.

In Concert will also feature excerpts from Laurencia, the dramatic and heroic tale of a peasant uprising in a Castilian village, which was set by international teacher, coach and artistic director Anna Marie Holmes, as well as Down and Out choreographed by School Artistic Faculty Gabriela Rehak, and a beautiful pas de quatre choreographed by PD Founding School Director David Moroni.Tickets $20 at the RWB Customer Service Office.
