Director's Message

For almost 35 years the RWB School Professional Division has been preparing young artists for careers with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company and companies around the world. For over 67 years, the RWB School Recreational Division has been providing quality dance instruction to dancers of all ages and interests. Today, RWB School graduates have an influence on the world of dance as dancers, teachers, choreographers, directors, designers and arts administrators.

When I first arrived at the RWB School as a student in 1976, I was immediately impressed by a faculty that shared their passion for this beautiful art form so openly and sincerely. Their energy and generosity was inspirational. As my role with the school has changed and grown, so has my inspiration. I am constantly reminded of how fortunate I am to share this art form with the young artists of tomorrow.

Over the past 30 years I have had the privilege to watch and be part of the remarkable growth and development of this school. The RWB School remains committed to the highest possible standards of excellence, while having the greatest respect for the individual, as a person, an artist and a creative spirit.
