Summer Session

This four-week program serves as an intensive audition period for the RWB School full-time Ballet Academic Program. Students are introduced to the discipline, cooperation and high standards required for professional dance training.

At the start of Summer Session, students are divided into groups appropriate to their skill level with separate classes for males and females. Dance classes are held Monday to Saturday.

When not taking classes, students spend time relaxing or participants in scheduled recreational activities and special events. Students are invited to take advantage of scheduled outings to the Manitoba Museum, Winnipeg Art Gallery, Rainbow Stage and Grand Beach. Students are also invited to participate in or attend RWB School performances of Ballet in the Park, a Winnipeg tradition in beautiful Assiniboine Park.

The expert staff, state-of-the-art facilities, diversity of curriculum and supportive community environment combine to make RWB School Summer Session a valuable and memorable experience for serious young dancers.

Throughout Summer Session, RWB School artistic staff assess students on their talent and aptitude for classical dance. Elements such as talent, musicality, coordination and artistry of motion are considered.
