Principal's Message

The Recreational Division is an integral part of the community of Winnipeg and surrounding areas. We pride ourselves in providing a nurturing environment for young dancers to build on their skills and talents with supportive, positive direction and sound instruction. Students are encouraged to feel safe and supported within our walls and to explore their artistic abilities.

The Recreational Division brings with it many benefits to our students such as free tickets to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet productions dress rehearsals, the opportunity to audition for the Nutcracker and the unique environment of brushing shoulders with professional classical dancers on a regular basis. Our large teaching staff offers a variety in style and approaches as well as provides a high calibre of instruction.

I have seen many of our students develop into confident individuals who have an appreciation for the performing arts. The Recreational Division provides opportunities for students to explore many different avenues of dance and musical theatre. We welcome a large range of ages from 3 years to adult. The School provides various levels of training from the pure enjoyment of the recreational study to more intensive training. The various performance opportunities enable students to further their confidence and stage experience. Several of the students have gone on to pursue post-graduate studies in the arts as well as professional careers.

I enjoy meeting every student individually and value their personal talents. I cherish the progress that the students achieve and strive to enable them to reach their full potential. I am proud of our students’ accomplishments and look forward to a rewarding future for them at the RWB School. The love of dance is infectious and is capable of being enjoyed by everyone who allows it to enter their heart.
